The “Tenri University – TCI (Tenri Cultural Institute) New York Tohoku Relief” is project where a group
of Japanese university students and a group of Tenrikyo followers from
the US and Canada will travel to Tohoku to engage in hinokishin by doing
relief work in an area devastated by last year’s earthquake and tsunami.
With the Japanese National Guard evacuating their posts in Tohoku, there
are still lots of work to be done and volunteers are still needed. The
project will be from August 1 – 4, 2012. Any male or female follower over the
age of 15 hoping to contribute to this meaningful cause is welcome to
join.
