Thanks to the support of many people within our
diocese, the Tenrikyo Mission Headquarters in America
was able to collect donations for the disaster relief to support those
impacted by the earthquake in Japan. The donations were
forwarded to the "Tenrikyo Disaster Relief Fund” and “Tenrikyo Fund to
Support Affected Dioceses and Disaster Relief Hinokishin Corps.”
The total amount of donations exceeded $100,000. We want to thank the
Women's Association, Los Angeles Chapter for taking the initiative to
spearhead this donation drive.
Although the collection has been closed, we ask that you continue to
direct your prayers to the people of Northeast Japan who continue to
struggle against the devastating effects of the earthquake and tsunami,
as well as to the many people around the world who have been touched by
disasters in the previous years.
